Glassboro Police responded to a residence on the 200 block of Dickinson Road around 10 p.m. on Aug. 5 for a report of a large, noisy party, police said on Wednesday, Aug. 23.
Police found a few hundred partiers, loud music and illegally parked cars, they said.
When police tried to break up the crowd, partiers became unruly and ignored orders to leave, police said. Attendees gathered in the street, took items from neighbors’ yards and continued blaring music, police said.
Police sought assistance from neighboring departments to disperse the crowd, but about 15 minutes after clearing the area, they began receiving reports of large crowds and noise less than a mile away on Rowan Boulevard.
Multiple fights began breaking out and some in the crowd caused damage to area businesses, police said. Outnumbered police requested a countywide mutual aid response.
Police charged Saddiq Shariff Jenkins,19, of Philadelphia with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and obstruction.
Zaire A. Glenn, 19, of Williamstown, was charged with disorderly conduct.
Brian Hee, the owner of the property where the party started, was charged with maintaining a nuisance.
And two tenants were cited for loud noise and maintaining a nuisance.
